Sweetpea – Embrace the Snaggletooth
I spent a month working on this fabulous creature’s portrait – struggling with the black fur and an almost inability to see her eyes in the photograph – but, after many hours of squinting and stepping back from the easel to make sure proportions were accurate, I completed it. I happily emailed the finished product to Sweetpea’s pet parent only to receive a voicemail from the pet parent with a bizarre request. They wanted the protruding tooth on the right side of her lower jaw removed! I felt somewhat miffed by this considering the dog has a snaggletooth so, wouldn’t you want that replicated in the portrait? Well, apparently not. So, I went back to Sweetpea’s piece and redid the tooth so that it doesn’t protrude and give a monster-like effect. If I had a dog with a snaggletooth, I’d embrace it. Seriously.
